Project: Citizens’ voice and the constitutional right of petition and complaint, as an important tool to increase government accountability Citizens’ voice and the constitutional right of petition and complaint, as an important tool to increase government accountability (establishing legal mechanisms for the completion of this constitutional right), is a project funded by the Balkan Trust for Democracy (2008-2009). This project aims at increasing government’s accountability and citizens’ participation in public life and their confidence toward state institutions through establishing legal mechanisms to respect the constitutional right of petition and complaints addressed to state authorities. The activities foreseen in the project will contribute to raise citizens’ awareness on their fundamental right to petition; increase accountability of the governmental institutions to better serve the public; increase trust of the public toward state institutions and bring citizens closer to their representatives in government and public institutions. |

Project: Monitoring of the implementation of the legal obligations for the financing of the electoral subjects in the parliamentary general elections of 2009 Monitoring of the implementation of the legal obligations for the financing of the electoral subjects in the parliamentary general elections of 2009, is a project funded by Soros Foundation (2009). This project aims at increasing of the transparency and trust of public to the electoral subjects through the monitoring aspect of the legal obligation for financing of them. The project aims to address establishment of the procedures, the more correct they are the more full they get, to prevent avoiding from the legal requirements and violence of the equality in the electoral campaign; establishing of the mechanisms for the monitoring and transparency of the financing means during the electoral campaign; monitoring of the electoral subject behaviour and applying of the legal obligations during the electoral campaign. The project will establish a method and a monitoring experience of this part of the campaigns, which might be used as a vlue and be developed in the future elections for other monitoring projects on financing of political parties, as well. |

Project: The score card project As to the opinion of the Centre for Parliamentary Studies, promoting of the transparency and accountability priciples in the Albanian society starts with the institution of the Assembly. The CPS promote transparency regarding the activity of the deputies in the Albanian Assembly in the plenary session, parliamentary committee meetings and offices of the MPs through advocating on the procedures for the participation of the public on the individual voting in every legislative session. Every MP should know the obligation to rapport to the electorate on the accomplishment of the electoral promises and their his/her obligation during the timeframe of a session. |
